I feel her pain. Because as anyone who has worked in a restaurant knows — “Church People” suck.
I’m not saying that people who go to church suck. But “Church People” — a subset of customers that frequent restaurants on Sundays between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM — they SUCK. (Please note the ALL CAPS in intended for emphasis of suckitude.)
It was not uncommon to be waiting on a group of 12 holy folks ordering the soup/salad special.
I inserted the word “folks” for an alternate f-word as this is a PG blog.
At the Olive Garden there is not a self serve soup and salad bar but it is delivered — and refilled — to your table by the server. That’s 12 x $3.49. You do the math. On second thought, I’ll do it.
And the topper is the tip was usually in the 5% to 10% range. Sometimes it was 0%. The zero tippers generally left a little note blessing me. Or a card with a Psalm on it.
